Beach Rental Kitchen Essentials

Making sure you get all the R&R you need on your beach vacation requires a little bit of advanced planning, especially when it comes to cooking in your beach house kitchen. All Grayt 30A kitchens come fully-equipped with most everything you'll need, from small appliances to serving ware and many things in between.
Here’s a rundown of what to bring and what not to bring and a peek of some of our favorite kitchen features.
Cleaning and Organization
If you're staying a week or longer and plan to do a lot of cooking, you should pack extra dishwashing detergent, dish soap, sponges, paper towels, and trash bags. We stock our homes with a few of these items to get you started, but you may want to pack a few extra kitchen-cleaning essentials.
Reusable grocery bags can also make life easier when running to the grocery store, hauling snacks to the beach, or packing supplies at the end of your trip.
Bonus: All of our guests receive a special Grayt 30A Vacations reusable grocery bag upon arrival to your home!
Cooking Essentials
Our Grayt 30A kitchens have everything you need to cook breakfast, lunch, and dinner, with all the pots, pans, utensils, and special tools to whip up gourmet meals. All homes have some type of coffee-brewing machine, however you should check the individual listing for your rental to see if your house has a coffee pot or a Keurig-style brewer. If your rental has a grill, we provide grilling supplies, including propane and tongs. Many of our rentals also come with blenders for creating yummy beach cocktails and shaved ice drinks for the kids.
Dinnerware
Your kitchen will come with plates, bowls, cups, mugs, etc., but for easier clean up—and to get you to your beach day faster— bring a large package of disposable plates, cups, and utensils. To be a bit more environmentally friendly, bring a sharpie and label everyone’s plastic cup with their name. This will prevent everyone from using multiple cups throughout the day, and cups can even be washed and re-used throughout the week.
Pro-Tip #1: Ziplock bags are super helpful for packing snacks to the beach and storing leftovers.
Pantry Basics and Extras
If you plan your menu ahead of time, be sure to bring the various spices, seasonings and condiments you’ll need versus buying expensive bottles at the local grocery store. Salt, pepper, hamburger seasoning, garlic, and olive oil are a few staples, as well as your favorite condiments like ketchup, mustard, and mayo. Don't forget the Steak sauce and salad dressing! No need to have bland meals on vacation!
Pro-Tip #2: Remember to pack plastic wrap and aluminum foil or small storage containers for storing leftovers in the fridge.
